Isolated Footing Design per AS 3600 2018
STAAD Foundation Advanced can design isolated, combined footing, and pilecaps comparable to Australian Code.
Factored Load
Concrete design of the foundations is done to factored loads. A table of factors per the Australian code for generating the load combination is available in the Loads & Factors page.
The checks are performed for bending about the two primary axes of the footing, oneway shear in the vertical planes along the two axes, and punching shear.
The sections of the code to which the various check are performed are:
- Design for flexure: Clauses 8.1.3, 8.1.6.1, and 8.1.2
- Design for oneway shear: Clauses 8.2.1 and 8.2.4
- Design for punching shear: Clauses 9.3.3 and 9.3.4
- Development length: Clauses 13.1.2.2. and 13.1.2.4
